Being chronically misunderstood doesn’t always look the same.
Sometimes it’s the lingering sting of being branded the problem when you just tried to tell the truth. Or the tight squeeze in your throat, feeling defeated, having to explain yourself again. It’s the quiet ache on the edge of connection…
A longing to be known but never quite feeling met.
What if the problem is me? Am I crazy? what if its all in my head? How do I even know what to believe?
Over time, you start to wonder…
Maybe you notice you’re stuck in a pattern that looks something like this
fawn → overfunction → people-please → self-abandon → burnout → flare → search for answers → give up → start again →
These patterns of protection, often have names, and most importantly they are patterns that can change
Specialties
Hey, I’m Jenna Dalfino,
(she/her)a trauma therapist in Nashville, TN, who quite frankly, doesn’t have suffering all figured out. I’ll take the same approach with you, not assuming, leaning into curiosity to discover the nuances that make you who you are.
Usually, you’ll find me immersed in thought, crafting my next poem, or with DIY hair dye all over my hands. I feel most alive snorkeling in the Pacific, caught between the pull of the current and the protection of the coast.
I know what it’s like to feel somewhat untethered,
and the bravery it takes to slowly learn to reach for support and trust that it will hold. I anchor into the belief that it's through connection we find belonging and begin to recognize when it’s safe to come home to ourselves again.
If something brought you this far, that’s worth following...

You don’t have to make yourself small to earn safety.
You don’t have to buy your way in here by performing or identity masking.
especially when you've been burned by providers, or you're not even sure what kind of support you need.
I offer free 15-minute consult calls. It’s a phone call with no pressure attached, no commitment, just a vibe check — a chance to get your questions answered and determine together if we’re a good fit.
