Grief Therapy in Nashville and virtually across TN.
How do you learn to carry such enormous love when you’ve lost the most tangible path to connection?
Grief can be so isolating
Losing your person can also mean losing parts of yourself.
You try to connect, but it feels like you're somewhere else outside the room.
Secondary losses accumulate.
Old routines break.
The Sunday afternoon call no longer rings at 4pm.
People don't ask about your person when all you want to do is talk about them.
Grieving is often misunderstood.
Tending to the relationship of loss that now lives within
Grief isn’t a problem to solve. Grief work includes, well…grieving: a process that is often hushed, hidden, yet desperate to find light.
I help you intentionally engage with grief, moving closer, offering presence, gently allowing your grief to take up space in your life.
You can talk about them here.
With compassion and reverence, and at a pace you can tolerate, we will explore what it's like to experience life now, including identity work, building towards increased capacity, and grief integration.
This process doesn't mean moving on. It looks much more like learning how to move with.
Types of Grief and Loss:
-
Grief after a sudden or unexpected death: the loss with no chance to say goodbye, and more questions than answers.
-
The grief of watching, waiting, and anticipating, often through a long illness. It begins before death and can mean witnessing prolonged suffering.
-
The grief that doesn't fit neatly in boxes: Estrangement, dementia, caregiver grief, and infertility are common examples.
-
Also called disenfranchised grief, this is grief that others dismiss, minimize, or stigmatize: miscarriage, a loss to suicide or overdose, an ex, adoption, chosen family, or a loss from long ago.
I’ve felt sudden grief, anticipated grief, and ambiguous loss; they all deserve time and attention.

Grief FAQs
-
I’d love to invite you to move away from judging your loss. If you’re experiencing grief, that is enough. Theres also a term for this type of grief; its called, disenfransed loss. Disenfransed or unrecognized loss is often grief that society doesn’t tend to name or honor.
-
Absolutely, grief doesn’t usually follow linear timelines. Your loss can be recent or 20+ years down the line.
-
No. This is a common fear, that working through grief will somehow make you even more disconnected from it all. The goal will be moving towards integration, quite the opposite; we are focused mainly on moving towards it all, not away.

Let’s Start with a Brief Chat
It can be really hard to talk about grief. On a 15-minute consult call, there’s nothing to prepare. You don’t have to arrive with the right words, or even tell your story - I’ll take the guesswork out of it and lead the way for you.
